I had not watched the 1996 movie adaption of Henry James' book 'The Portrait of a Lady' until this year, but as I was writing up my last post about the Titanic sinking on James' birthday in 1912 I couldn't help thinking just how many actors in that film had been in Kubrick movies ... or movies about Kubrick.

Herrrrreeeesss Johnny:-)There are the two Shellys, Shelly Winters from 'Lolita' playing Mrs. Touchett and Shelly Duvall from 'The Shining' playing Countess Gemini (Gemini/The Twins?), Nicole Kidman from 'Eyes Wide Shut' playing Isabel Archer and of course John Malkovich playing Gilbert Osmond in 'The Portrait of a Lady' and also a Kubrick imposter in the 2006 movie 'Color Me Kubrick'.
Ironically, in 1999 the year Kubrick died John Malkovich was just playing himself in 'Being John Malkovich':-)
And then there is Richard E. Grant who plays Lord Warburton in the movie, who just seems to pop up everywhere lately, but not in any Kubrick films -
