Chris Knowles at 'The Secret Sun' blog wrote a May Day (May the 1st) post titled 'Don't Look Now, but the Mermaids are Back' where wrote -

"Disney's been stumbling from failure to failure as of late, and some believe the race-swapped Little Mermaid live-action remake will continue their losing streak. I really don't care one way or the other [especially if he is wrong], since Hollywood is on its very last legs anyhow.

It's long outlived its usefulness, same as opera, three-ring circuses and Vaudeville.
And besides, this particular actress doesn't seem all that miscast in any case, given that she has a bit of the old "Innsmouth look." Wouldn't you agree?"

It's not the first time Knowles has been wrong with his movie projections, either ... unless he was saying he thinks Avatar 2 is a trillion times better than the first Avatar -
