Does 'The Big Door Prize' Live Up to Its Potential?ðŸ”ŪðŸ§ŽðŸ‘―ðŸĶ‹ðŸšŠ

After reading
Jack Heart's Tek-Gnostics blog post about Apple TV's new series
'The Big Door Prize' based on the M.O. Walsh book I decided to give the first season a watch.
The more I watched this show, the more I thought about the "Owl Guy" and his literal door signs.
The Big Door Prize by M.O. Walsh
The phrase "door prize" refers to a type of prize where the entering of the contest is accomplished by walking through the door. In most of these situations, participants will pay a small amount of money to come into a dance or convention, and then participants are given tickets. At some point the organizer will remove the matching ticket from the glass, and cancel it. If no one answers it, they will choose a new one. While it is unclear when this practice was first implemented, the first documentation of the practice is found in The Carpet Trade in 1867.
This practice became popular in the United States of America in the 1950s, during the growth of the American consumer society following World War II.
I'm yet to read Mike's book and have no idea where 'The Big Door Prize' is heading in season 2, but they both look like they have potential.
