Mickey also directed the TV series 'The Shining' (which I'm yet to see) for Stephen King, because King hated Kubrick's movie take on his book -

I hadn't heard of Mick Garris before that search on Barker but I was surprised to see the films and TV shows he has worked on.
Post Mortem with Mick Garris: Clive Barker |
Including the Michael Jackson 38-minute music video 'Ghosts'.
"Ghosts began production in 1993 under the title Is it Scary? with the director Mick Garris, planned for release in conjunction with the family comedy film Addams Family Values. Following contract disputes, the Addams Family connection was dropped. Stan Winston, who was previously in charge of makeup and visual effects, took over as director when Garris left to make the Shining miniseries. According to Garris, Ghosts was the most expensive music video ever made, at around $15 million dollars, all paid for by Jackson."

I'm gonna have to take a look at Mick's movies and TV shows, past, present and future and listen to some more 'Post Mortem' podcast episodes, like the one he recently did with 'Evil Dead Rise' director Lee Cronin and the discussion of ghosts.
I notice that Mick Garris was born in 1951, the Year of the Rabbit, no wonder he likes to go down rabbit holes, like Anger does;-)
