Drew Barrymore is Far From Home This Weekend I See? ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜€

I read in my local paper that Drew Barrymore is doing a show in my hometown Brisbane this weekend.
Unfortunately, that newspaper has been on my dining room table for weeks in a pile of unread newspapers that I only decided to read and throw out into my recycling bin this week.
I thought it would be too late to get tickets, but I went to the website and thought to myself that if there are any
$79 tickets left, I'll buy one ... and there was one single $79 ticket left in the whole venue, so I thought OK, I'm in ... as I wasn't prepared to fork out any more for a ticket.
I thought that it must have just been in my cards that there was one $79 ticket left and pretty close to the stage, as well.
But when I went to buy that ticket a list of conditions came up that basically said I had to be in a wheelchair and disabled to purchase that ticket.
No wonder that ticket hadn't been snapped up I thought.
There was one more ticket not far away in that section with "obstructed views" if I was prepared to fork out $229 for it, but I wasn't, as I need that money for another ticket to an event I'm planning on going to in another two weeks.
I checked the site again this morning and all tickets are sold.
I was mainly interested to see what Terri Irwin was doing at an event like that, but I'm not that interested, as to be forking out for a triple digit figure ticket.
I'll just stay home and watch my Sharkies smash Russell Crowe's Rabbitohs on TV;-)
I guess when you're an old Wood Dragon like meRussell and Terri, there is no place like home?-)

But I noticed that Drew is a Wood Rabbit and only missed out by a few weeks of being born a Tiger like Steve and Bindi Irwin are, even though it appears (if you can believe Wikipedia) that Drew and Steve share February 22nd as a birthday:-)
It's a mad world we are all living in, I guess?-)

Ariarne Titmus in 60-year First?๐Ÿชต๐Ÿ‰

I saw
this news story about
Ariarne Titmus (who was born in The Year of the Dragon by the way) being just the second female Aussie swimmer and first in 60 years to defend an Olympic title
Ariarne Titmus in 60-year first
Titmus joins the legendary Dawn Fraser as the only Australian women to successfully defend an Olympic title in swimming, after Fraser won 100m freestyle gold in 1956, 1960 and 1964 (The Year of the Wood Dragon).
2024 is The Year of the Wood Dragon once more:-)
Australia has enjoyed its most successful
opening day in Olympic Games history
On the subject of
Games, Water and Dawn Fraser reminded me of this old 2021 post -

The Little Prince is One of the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die?๐Ÿคด๐Ÿ“•๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ‘ป

I read
'The Little Prince' years ago and liked it, and when I saw the latest '
Mere Mortals Book Reviews' You Tube today, I thought that book should have been in the book I'm working my way through now, called '1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die' ... and it was:-)
'The Little Prince' is on page 424?!
And I found out today it's on page 424 of that book.
A number that means quite a lot to me personally, as regular readers of this blog would know.
I'm only up to page 243 (Heart of Darkness) going forward in the book, and page 941 (Against the Day) going backwards in the book.
So, it's good to see that I have one less book from this book to read ... before I die:-)

The Lone Gunmen and X-Files Star Dean Haglund is a Snake? ๐Ÿ‘ฝ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ›ธ

I was surprised to see that Dean is actually about a year younger than me when looking up his Wikipedia page recently and that Dean was born on July 29th, 1965, making him a Snake, as far as his Chinese zodiac goes anyway:-)
Oh, and happy birthday for tomorrow, Dean:-)
I see that 'The Lone Gunmen' aired synchromystically in 2001, the Year of the Snake, also;-)
Remember 2001, the year the Twin Towers came down?
HISS ... S ...YNC: 2001 Year of the Snake and NYC?
"Dean Haglund (born July 29, 1965) is a Canadian actor, known for the role of Richard "Ringo" Langly, one of The Lone Gunmen on The X-Files. Haglund is also a stand-up comedian, specializing in improvisational comedy, including work with the Vancouver TheatreSports League. In addition to The X-Files, he played the voice of Sid in Tom Sawyer, Haglund also portrayed Langly in the spin-off The Lone Gunmen, which aired thirteen episodes in 2001. He is the inventor of the Chill Pak, a commercial external cooling product for laptop computers."
Hidden Experience: Owls,
UFOs and Area 51
I found this 2011 doco of Dean's personally nostalgic when watching it from a 2024 perspective.
Especially seeing the late Cynthia Crawford in the doco with Dean interviewing her about her art, of which I have on my desktop in front of me.
Cynthia Crawford Has Gone Up to The Spirit in the Sky
And Dean even interviewed the now late Reg Presley, who I have written about on this blog years ago -
There is even an interview with a young nerdy looking Richard Dolan, who celebrates his birthday the day before 'World UFO Day' by the way, unlike Margot Robbie, who celebrates Her's on 'World UFO Day' -
ChillPak Hollywood Hour
I never knew about Dean's podcast 'ChillPak Hollywood Hour' until reading Mike's post and then researching what Dean was up to lately.
I binged listened to season 18 of the 'ChillPak Hollywood Hour' during the week on Apple Podcasts, because that's all there is on Apple.
And ironically there is even a current podcast episode about "the lone gunman" who took a few shots at Trump.

What I really like about the 'ChillPak Hollywood Hour' is how Dean and Phil feature the lives and acting careers of the latest dead celebrities, such as Shelley Duval in the latest episode, as well as review the latest movies and streaming releases.
I'd like to hear them review 'Fly Me to the Moon' soon;-)

Prophetic Scene from the Movie "Angriest Man in Brooklyn"
I was surprised to hear that
Dean and his partner Lilly Holleman lived in my country (Australia) for 4 years.
The only movie that I've seen that Lilly was in was 'The Love Witch', but I don't remember a lot about that movie now and don't recall seeing Lilly in it.
I'd have to watch it again to refresh my memory ... and send my blood pressure through the roof;-)
Or at least watch David Plate's synch-movie of it.
I did write a post about watching that movie in this old post -
The Love Witch?๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ˜
WEYES BLOOD THE LOVE WITCH (Sync Movie)
Lilly
is featured in Year 18 Episode 7 of the
'ChillPak Hollywood Hour' where they discuss her birthday falling on Juneteenth.
Phil and Dean also discuss one of my favourite movies of the year so far (Late Night with the Devil) in that episode and the controversy of the AI generated owl:-)
Late Night with the Devil?๐ŸŒƒ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ‘บ๐Ÿ‘ป
Dean
and Phil also try to rip QT's theory apart about the 10-year-old movie 'It Follows', which I hadn't seen before last night, until after finding a free You Tube of it someone had uploaded to the net.
It Follows (2014)
David Robert Mitchell is an interesting film maker in my book, as I am a fan of the movie he made after 'It Follows' -

Under the Silver Lake (2018)
Apparently, David is ready to film the sequel to 'It Follows', which will be called 'They Follow'.
