The SIGNificance of Numbers?

666?
My friends over at the 'Synchrosecrets' blog recently wrote a post about the number 666 and how some people see that number as being somehow evil, or a bad sign, much like how people see the number 13 in the west, or 4 in Asian culture as being a sign of bad luck, hence most casinos don't have an official 4th or 13th floor visible elevator button when you get into a lift.
Personally, I don't believe any numbers are lucky or unlucky in a general nature, but I can see how people might equate them as lucky or unlucky when they show up at significant times often in an individual's life in a synchronistic way.
I mean was it unlucky that cricketer Shane Warne was born on the 13th of September and passed away in Thailand on the 4th of March?
Goodnight Shane?
That 666 post was posted on the 4th of March, too I noticed:-)
And I always say that "when your number is up, it's up" ... but that could be any old number which of course would be an unlucky number to the deceased and family and friends of the deceased if they dwelled on the number.
My own father passed away on Shane's birthday of September 13th in 2016, but I don't see 13 as anymore unlucky than any other number for me personally.
I wrote in the comment section of the 666 post how their post about the number 666 reminded me of a post I wrote about the number 137 and a bottle of Champagne I bought which also had the number 666 wedged in between the numbers 23/09 which is my birthdate:-)
Celebrating Life and #137?
Some people like Ryan Bledsoe in the above podcast of his make a big deal out of the number 33 being something special, which to me personally is no more special than any other number or letter we use in day-to-day life.
I like listening to Ryan rave on about how much he knows about the way of the world ... which to me seems like not a real lot really:-)

The invention of numbers
But I do find it interesting to listen to podcasts about numbers and how important and meaningful they are to our everyday lives, whether personally or as a collective.
So, what's the $ignificance of numbers for the real world, good, bad or otherwise?

  1. Brizz, Still love your humour! Living in the USA's " Bible Belt", I can relate to either ringing up extra store items, or even pumping additional petrol to AVOID the " Mark of the Beast" 666! And the craziness is my birthday is 6/13/66, and being a LEFTY, my younger days I humored friends and myself with those three sixes AND 13 in my birthdate! Just for laughs..

    1. The way people try to avoid or use lucky numbers to their advantage always brings a smile to my face, like the Chinese who like to get 888 number-plates on their cars because that is seen as a super lucky number, but 4 to them is like 13 is to the western world.
But what is half of 888?
      A: 444 :-)
I always half joke that 23 is my unlucky number, because that's the date I came into this world.
Funny thing is about a year ago I got 5 out of 6 winning lotto numbers which won me over $1000, but it was 23 that I didn't have and which cost me one million dollars :-(

    2. In Australia Dan we would write your birth-date as 13/6/66
