Are Hot Cross Buns Containing Apple Meant to Be Symbolic in a Biblical Sense?🍎🐍

I'm not a religious person but I picked up a 4-pack of Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns (in 2025, the Year of the Snake;-) from my local supermarket and wondered if the apple in the bun is meant to represent the sin of man of picking the fruit from the tree of knowledge?

Is the grape/sultana the forbidden fruit?

Or is the apple more of a Jungian archetype representing forbidden/knowledge?

Is giving an apple to the teacher a wink to the Biblical Eden myth? 
As is the apple on Apple computers?
