I was hoping to finish 'Curlews on Vulture Street' yesterday on 'Bird Day' ... but life is what happens while you're busy making other plans, as John Lennon would tell you.

When I read this page above about marking 42 ibis I couldn't help but think of the 42 laws of Maat and an old post I had written about an old boss of mine, who I worked under for 6 months back in the mid 80s, right around the time that the author of 'Curlews on Vulture Street' came to work at that university -

UFOs and a Blast From My Past?

I even used my owl bookmark I bought from Powell's Books in Portland, Oregon when I was there.

You might say that I was drawn to buy both the book and the bookmark and to finish reading the book on 'Cartoonists Day';-)
