I find it amusing that 'Left Handers Day' falls on 'World Calligraphy Day', as the left hand was in the past(?) considered the hand of the devil.

History of Ekka People’s Day

I was surprised to see Ekka People's Day mentioned in the National Days website, as this event takes place every year the Ekka takes place on the Wednesday after it starts in my hometown of Brisbane, Australia.

This event is part of the larger Royal Queensland Show, affectionately known as Ekka.

I haven't been so far this year, and don't plan on going this year.

It's also 'National Prosecco Day' I see, which was lucky for me, as someone had given my son a bottle for his birthday this year and he doesn't drink it, so he gave it to me knowing that I'll drink just about anything.

I spent today washing my clothes that I wore on my Singapore trip.

We spent the nights on the 13th floor of the hotel:-)

 And then went to the cinema to see 'Weapons' with my son.

Ironically, the movie has an undercurrent about alcohol abuse (hence the triangle in the credits and references to 'The Shining' in the film) not to mention dark witchcraft, and then I went home and opened the bottle of Prosecco that was in my fridge:-)

'Weapons' is a surprisingly very good horror movie by the way.
