AA & Carl Jung? πŸ˜΅πŸ“•πŸͺ™

I got this 24-hour sobriety coin above from my son in Denver when he found a Geocache stash and asked me if I wanted to keep anything he discovered in the stash -

I chose to keep the AA coin and a plastic purple alien on a snowboard (I've since given the alien away).
I've joked to work mates about the 24-hour sobriety coin that I keep on my computer table and how I can't remember a day in the last year or two where I could actually say that I have been completely sober for a 24-hour period.
It's not like I'm smashed every day, I might just have a glass of wine with my nightly meal, or a mid-strength beer with my lunch to disqualify me from the coin.
I don't consider myself an alcoholic, but my work mates and friends will joke with me that that is exactly what an alcoholic would say;-)
Whatever, I say, as my drinking has never gotten me into trouble yet, like some people I know, and I never drive if I'm over the legal limit.
But I find it amazing how many people can't control their drinking and how organizations like AA have been instrumental in turning their lives around when they have hit rock bottom through drink.
I remembered reading somewhere or listening about Carl Jung being a big influence in getting one of the founders to turn his life around when he was a hopeless drunk, before helping to start AA.
I did an Apple Podcast search for "Carl Jung+Alcoholics Anonymous" and found some interesting podcasts about Jung and AA.
And some of these podcast shows are available at You Tube, as well.
I found these shows and episodes worth a listen, as far as Jung and the AA goes.
I hope I never need the help of Sober Friends to straighten my life out, but it's good to know that they are out there if I ever do.

This year the AA turns 90 years old, and it has been 150 years today since Carl Jung was born.
