Synchromysticism

The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical or esoteric significance."

Chinese Astrological Archetypes in Real Life?

I saw this story on the ABC news website this morning and couldn't help thinking of the Chinese astrology signs of monkey and rooster/chicken -
"A chicken that wandered into an Israeli zoo has been adopted by a young macaque monkey, with zoo officials saying the pair have become inseparable.
Indonesian crested
black macaque Niv, 4, has been treating the weeks-old chick like its own baby, grooming, cradling, playing with and going to sleep with the rogue fowl since it appeared at the Ramat Gan Safari park near Tel Aviv.
Other
monkeys in the enclosure have also accepted the bird, cuddling it the same way infant macaques are cared for by females other than the mother."
2017: What Comes First, the Chicken, the Egg ... or the Monkey?
Shark Week in the Year of the Monkey
Apart from my father passing away with a host of other stars in 2016 I personal found the 'Year of the Monkey' a rather memorable year, as far as all the other years in my life meant to me.
If I had to pick a favorite year in all my years in this current life, the 'Year of the Monkey 2016' would be it ... so far.
Year of the Monkey and Synchromysticism?
Chinese animal zodiac trinkets that I have collected over the years
I also like the shamanic totem animal side of such synchromystic practices in bringing signs into our "collective and personal unconsciousness".
And not only that, but I like good animal news stories, as well.
"Seemingly unusual animal relationships are common and often deliberately engineered, with common domestic animals such as goats sometimes used to provide milk and socialisation for orphaned animals such as tapirs, or donkeys used to provide security and comfort for abandoned calves.
In south-western Western Australia, a Maltese shih tzu and an emu that met while the emu was a rescue chick the same size as the dog, are still friends two years later, when the emu is fully grown.
Also in southern Western Australia, near Esperance, a rescued kangaroo joey made international headlines after not just becoming friends with the farm dogs, but behaving like a dog.
In the US state of Georgia, a black bear, African lion and Bengal tiger that were discovered together in the basement of an Atlanta home when they were cubs became famous for their continued bromance, remaining inseparable until the lion died in August 2016 at age 15.
But there was no known human intervention needed to convince a rogue rooster later named Cluck Norris that it was a member of a kangaroo mob at a Northern Territory roadhouse.

Neanderthal Man?
In perhaps the most famous case ever, western lowlands gorilla Koko used sign language to ask for a cat in 1983.
When given a lifelike
stuffed animal, she refused to play with it and kept signing "sad" until being allowed to choose a kitten from a litter.
She ultimately cared for —
and named — a succession of kittens, caring for them as if they were baby gorillas and becoming distraught when her first cat escaped and was hit by a car.
"
I can't wait to celebrate the 'Year of the Dog' and see what stories and lessons that brings into my life ... but I'm not one to count my chickens until they've hatched;-)
