Indonesian crested black macaque Niv, 4, has been treating the weeks-old chick like its own baby, grooming, cradling, playing with and going to sleep with the rogue fowl since it appeared at the Ramat Gan Safari park near Tel Aviv.
Other monkeys in the enclosure have also accepted the bird, cuddling it the same way infant macaques are cared for by females other than the mother."

Apart from my father passing away with a host of other stars in 2016 I personal found the 'Year of the Monkey' a rather memorable year, as far as all the other years in my life meant to me.
If I had to pick a favorite year in all my years in this current life, the 'Year of the Monkey 2016' would be it ... so far.

And not only that, but I like good animal news stories, as well.

In perhaps the most famous case ever, western lowlands gorilla Koko used sign language to ask for a cat in 1983.
When given a lifelike stuffed animal, she refused to play with it and kept signing "sad" until being allowed to choose a kitten from a litter.
She ultimately cared for — and named — a succession of kittens, caring for them as if they were baby gorillas and becoming distraught when her first cat escaped and was hit by a car."
I can't wait to celebrate the 'Year of the Dog' and see what stories and lessons that brings into my life ... but I'm not one to count my chickens until they've hatched;-)
