The Rainbow Trout in Australia were originally brought over from California.

The Rainbow Trout.

The word Trout refers to a number of fish that belong to the salmon family.

"Rainbows (a phenomenon produced by sunlight passing through beads of moisture in the atmosphere, causing a band of coloured light to appear) are said to mark the cessation of rain, particularly, extended periods of heavy drizzle.
We are inspired to investigate who we truly are, both externally and internally, to purify our mind, body and spirit and to engage a symbolic death of sorts, or consciously banish our tired familiar self forever.
Trout Dreaming encourages us to contemplate our 'rainy times' when they come, and to bask in their glory and learn from them.

I also like that in the song above 'California Dreaming' that it starts off with the lyrics, "All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey..."
As the Brown Trout was introduced into Australia from England.
