Life Is Fine? Waving and Not Drowning in 2018?

I picked up the February edition of the Australian version of 'Rolling Stone' magazine from my local newsagents the other day and flicking through it saw an advert for Paul Kelly's latest album, which I hadn't heard yet.
Paul is pictured in what appears to be deep water with his hand raised, either calling for help, or as if to say it's OK, I'm fine.
To me that sums up how I feel on a personal and collective basis for the coming year ahead and the signs all over the place don't look to swimmingly in the world pool, I think.
2018 and that Sinking/Synching Feeling?
There are some interesting song titles on Paul's new album too, I think.
And in case you hadn’t heard, "Australia’s long-running edition of Rolling Stone is bottom up.
Not by fault of its own editorial.
Another casualty of plummeting magazine readership and revenues, parent company Paper Riot entered into liquidation.
The Australian Stone has already been bailed out of oblivion once before in 2013, but the latest news doesn’t paint a bright future."
Of course, with Vance Joy on the cover I can't help but think of his song 'Riptide'.
From a January 14th newspaper
I noticed that Paul only has two gigs up on his site for 2018, one is in Darwin and the other is in Mooloolaba at the 'Sea N sound Festival' in June.
I saw that newspaper story above where 13 swimmers were rescued at Mooloolaba in a story from the
January 14th Courier Mail newspaper.
Which means that those swimmers would have been pulled out of the surf at Mooloolaba on Paul Kelly's birthday, as according to Paul's Wikipedia page January 13th is his birthday.
How synchy/sinky is that?-)
Blow out those candles and make a wish to keep your head above the water for another year Paul.
"Fortune Used to Hide in the Palm of His Hand."
"... And There's So Much Water So Close to Home" Paul Kelly
And if all of that sounds bats#it crazy to you, then you might like to listen to Dr. Bernie Beitman and Ray Grasse discuss such things as synchronicity and bizarre coincidences in the video above, or go to Bernie's podcast site and take a listen to podcast #33 -

Also, in the same January 14th newspaper of the 13 people being pulled from the Mooloolaba surf was this story about waving goodbye and high-water marks.
Unfortunately, one person's dream can be another person's nightmare as this similar news story shows -
THE adventure of a lifetime turned into a nightmare for a young couple, who have just $115 left after their boat capsized. Now they are seeking a bailout.
And in the same January 14th newspaper a story about pets taking centre stage.
Dogs of course, because once the rooster has flown the coup it will be the Year of the Dog for the rest of 2018 ... and then some.
Pets taking the stage/cinema screens?
That movie review/feature in the January 14th newspaper pictured above was all about the movie 'Peter Rabbit' and how most of it was filmed Down-under in Sydney, even though the story is set in England.
I'll be revisiting this movie in an upcoming post about bullying that I'm working on.
And I hope to catch this movie when it hits the Australian cinema screens, as I won't be boycotting it.
I get the reason behind the call for a boycott, but if you took out every scene in a movie that pissed someone off there would soon be nothing left to watch.
I also see in the February 'Rolling Stone' that Lana Del Rey is playing the Riverstage in my hometown on the 29th of March.
Maybe I've got my own nose too close to the water to see the beach in 2018 and even though it's meant to be the Chinese 'Year of the Earth Dog', the two words that come to my mind when I think about 2018 is "dog"/"paddle".
2018 is going to be a sink or swim kind of year, not just for me, but for the planet in general I feel.

  1. You always have the most intriguing and fascinating synchros here, Daz. The Paul Kelly stuff: is it precognitive?

  2. No.
We're both just picking up on the 2018 undercurrent of the unconscious collective mind I think.
Paul is a great artist and his work always seems to be tapped into the prevailing currents in the world and while I can't speak for Paul that's the feeling 2018 gives me.
