WHO Invented Aliens and UFOs? 🦉👽🛸

I found the Patented Podcast when searching for podcasts about the game of Monopoly (but that's a post I'm still to write about yet) and listened to some other strange sounding episodes about UFOs and Aliens.
In the podcast about WHO invented aliens the host seems to credit Whitley Stieber and the cover art of Strieber's book 'Communion' for "inventing" the classic Grey alien.
Unpacking 'The Wolfen' and Other Strieber Stories?🐺👽👾
I would argue that Whitley didn't "invent" the Grey alien, but sure burnt it into the collective unconsciousness.
To say that Whitley "invented" the Grey Alien would be like saying that Mike Clelland "invented" owls:-)
