How to Celebrate Morning Show Hosts Day During Better Breakfast Month on World Tourism Day?📷🌏🦁⚓📺🥣😋🌎📸

I must confess that I don't usually watch much
morning TV, unless there is a major news story breaking, or I'm stuck in a hotel room waiting for my son to get out of bed and get ready to go to breakfast or leave the hotel room to do some sightseeing.
Every September 27th
Morning news is a bit different to the evening news, but not that much, I reckon.
Of course, my main motivation for watching the mornning news this morning was to hear about the Fremantle Dockers losing the AFL Grand Final yesterday:-)
How to Celebrate Save Your Photos Day During Save Your Photos Month? 📷🦁⚓📸🏆🏆🏆🥳
I'll bet West Coast Eagles fans liked the outcome of yesterday's AFL Grand Final as much as the Lions fans did.
So, it was watch the morning news or the seagulls frolicking on the roof of the building next door.
Our plans for the day were to head out to Fitzroy to see the Lions players celebrate the win with the Fitzroy and Brisbane Lions fans and then to walk around Fitzroy and have a few beers in the pubs around there.
Unfortunately for us we saw the Lions players on the morning news show leaving their hotel for Fitzroy while we had just sat down for breakfast at our hotel in Docklands, which meant we might not get there in time to meet the players.
By the time we left the hotel to ride the tram to
Fitzroy the players were already on the bus, and we only got to see the coach doing an interview as he was heading for the bus:-(
While it was a little disappointing to have missed the party, looking back was rather fortuitous that we did leave the hotel when we did, as we caught up with the people from Brisbane who we spent the day with at our table in the Carlton Draught tent on the tram ride to Fitzroy:-)
So, it was good showing them the photos on my phone of the aftergame celebrations in the MCG, as they couldn't get in after the game.
Then we lost contact with them again, as we got off one tram stop too early with some other Lions fans, while they stayed on the tram and got off at the right stop further up the road.
We lost them in the crowd ... and UPDATE ... we haven't seen them again since getting back to Brisbane.
Such is life, as Ned Kelly said, when he was about to be hung?
But we had a great time talking to Fitzroy Lions supporters on their own turf at the ground, before we left to walk around Fitzroy on such a beautiful day, weather wise, as opposed to yesterday's weather.
We saw this guy above riding his bike around the block in Flinders Street last night, booming the Lions' theme song out of a speaker, while Docker's fans were lined up to get into a pub in the Melbourne CBD:-)
I was glad to see that the Docker's fans hadn't tied an anchor to his bike and thrown him in the Yarra River last night;-)
He was riding around Fitzroy this morning playing the commentary of the game from "Wharfie Time" onwards:-)
We left the grounds and got in line for the pub up the road to open, so I could have a beer and plan the rest of our day out.
Of course, I just had to have a Lions Lager and find a spot near a TV to watch a replay on the game:-)
Which wasn't an easy task in a full pub:-)
Cheers
... and GO THE LIONS in 2027, the Year of the Goat!!!

UPDATE: October 3rd, 2026
Fremantle big man Mason Cox responds after
grand final ‘stinker’ against Brisbane
Ironically, September was 'Sports Eye Safety Month', mainly in The United States rather than Australia, but the American Fremantle Dockers player Mason Cox is probably the only AFL player to wear such eyewear.
