My original plan was to see 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' on the same day when they came out in July, but you know what they say, "if you want to make God laugh, then tell God your plans";-)

I did eventually end up seeing both movies, but weeks apart, and I'm glad that I did, as 'Oppenheimer' is so slow that the 3 hour movie seemed like a 4-hour movie to me.

Not that it was a bad movie, but I went in with a belly full of sushi and no coffee, and battled hard to stay awake throughout the nighttime session I went to with my son, and he was the same.

But now I'll have to sit through it again to fill in the blanks when I did doze off a few times.

Maybe I'll try doing the Barbenheimer double by starting off with a morning session of 'Oppenheimer' then an afternoon session of 'Barbie'? 

Forget Barbenheimer and Try Joy Ride Barbie Instead?🚗💣

I saw 'Barbie' and then went to see 'Joy Ride' when 'Barbie' first was released, and that was a better ADULT double feature then 'Barbenheimer' I thought.

Well, who's going to drag a kid along to see 'Oppenheimer' with 'Barbie' anyway, right?
Ironically, I think 'Joy Ride' bombed at the box office:-)

'Barbie' crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide on August 6, 2023 (of all days), making it the first film by a solo female director to do so.
