This Jungian Life: Episode (October?-) 31 - Food Addiction?

Halloween and food addiction on your mind?
I listened to #31 of the 'This Jungian Life' podcast series and thought this episode seemed to go rather well with Halloween and its themes when you think of all of those trick or treaters going around to collect bag fulls of junk food.

And Terrify You
And there are even a few terrifying folktales involving food in this episode, which seems to suit Halloween, not to mention a disturbing dream to round things off -
"Compulsive eating is a complicated psychological and biological problem.
Food addiction can be a way of defending against unmet needs by displacing emotional hunger onto food.
We discuss how infant experiences with eating and soothing can shape one’s relationship to food in adulthood.
Two fairy tales tell of parents with insatiably devouring babies and illustrate the consequences of failure to develop affect regulation and how that can lead to various vulnerabilities to addiction."

Apart from being a disgusting desert, that strawberry cupcake wouldn't go down too well in Australia with what went on this year to supermarket strawberries -
Something to eat in-between Halloween
and
Thanksgiving maybe?-)
Bon appΓ©tit:-)
Oh, and Paul's mother passed away on October 31st, also -
