The Passing of a 42-Year-Old Iguana Down-Under in the Year of the Rabbit? 🌏🐉🐰

I saw the Irwin family in the news today announcing the death of their 42 year-old iguana and couldn't help thinking of Jake Kotze's old 'HURT' sync films where he uses scenes from the 1964 movie 'The Night of the Iguana' and his 42 sync film.
I think Jake was trying to make the connection between dragons and Jake thinking that John Hurt was born in 1940, the Year of the Dragon?
But John Hurt arrived in 1940 too early to be born a Dragon, as being born in January that year makes him a Rabbit, not a Dragon.
'The Night of the Iguana' was released in 1964, the Year of the Dragon, though.
Time and Punishment?⏰👀
What's Up with the Year of the Rabbit, Doc?💊🐇🌈🐰
Close Jake, but no cigar I'm  a-Freud:-)
The Night of the Iguana (1964)
Bindi and Robert's mum Terri was born in 1964, like me, making us both Dragons, not to mention friend of the Irwins Russell Crowe, who is ironically a part owner of/and a Rabbitoh supporter:-)
Unlike the Aussie PM, who is a Rabbit and a Rabbitoh supporter:-P
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road🌈Turns 50 in 2023 and the PM of Oz🌏Who Owns a Dog Named Toto🦮Turns 60?
When I hear about iguanas I think of the old 'Wall of Voodoo' song 'Mexican Radio' where they sing about BBQ'd iguana ... yuck!!!
The Australia Zoo iguana was even older than that 'Wall of Voodoo' song, too ... just.
I was up at Australia Zoo the day Bindi got married (not that I knew that she was getting married that day), but I didn't see the iguana, because I think the enclosure was being cleaned that day -
Guess Where I Was Today?
When you watch those 'HURT' videos above remember that today is February 2nd, 2023, or Groundhog Day in 2023, the Year of the Rabbit;-)
Groundhog Day in the Year of the Rabbit?⛳🕳🐇

  1. Hi again Darren, great post!
Whenever I hear 'Night of the Iguana' I remember a story our family has, its 'the moral of the story' type of thing. Shall I tell you, its a simple one?
One day my mother was out with friends for their usual 'coffee afternoon' and one of the ladies in the group sitting in the back of the car (which was bringing a bunch of them home) shouted out "There's an Iguana in that Taxi!" and everyone looked but saw no Taxi going by on the road. Her daughter, who was driving said, "Oh don't listen to her, she's always seeing things, imagining stuff, ignore her!"
Everyone laughed saying why on Earth did she think of an 'Iguana?! How crazy!'
Later that evening, while recalling the funny incident, we turned on the TV news to hear that a pet Iguana had escaped it's host and been lost for a few days, to later be recovered by a local taxi driver and he had taken it to the Police station. We laughed in amazement. Ever since then, when ever we hear a story that is too good to be true, or just plain ridiculous, we say 'Remember the Iguana!"
    :-)
