Is " Back to the Future" a Film About the Knight's Templars and Their Fight with Rome?

I was reading Christopher Knowles series of posts about the Knights Templar -
Revisiting the Temple: In Light of Recent Events...
... well the concluding post anyway, as I have read them all when they were first posted and didn't have time to re-read the whole lot.
I had also just watched Joe Alexander's clip about
"Back to the Future" and his therory about BTTF being
linked to Grey aliens and the atomic bomb.
I don't know about the Roswell story, but after reading Chris Knowles' post I started getting how a lot of things in that movie seemed to be related to what Chris was writing about.
" The red cross that the Templars wore on their robes was a symbol of martyrdom, and to die in combat was considered a great honor that assured a place in heaven.
There was a cardinal rule that the warriors of the Order should never surrender unless the Templar flag had fallen, and even then they were first to try to regroup with another of the Christian orders, such as that of the Hospitallers
Only after all flags had fallen were they allowed to leave the battlefield.
This uncompromising principle, along with their reputation for courage, excellent training, and heavy armament, made the Templars one of the most feared combat forces in medieval times. "

Descendants of Holy Grail knights
demand an
apology from the Pope
" A British order of Templars that claims direct descent from the original Knights Templar is calling on the Pope to apologise after the recent discovery of an ancient Vatican document showing that the knights had been absolved of the charges laid against them seven centuries ago.
The accusations of heresy led to the disbandment of the order and the burning at the stake of Jacques de Molay, the order’s grand master.
The Vatican published a 5,900-euro (£3,925) collector’s edition of its documents on the Knights Templar, the wealthy medieval order formed to protect Christian pilgrims travelling to Jerusalem after the holy city was captured in the Crusades.
The knights remain at the centre of numerous Holy Grail conspiracy theories and intrigues, including the plot of the novel, The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown. One of the documents, the Chinon Parchment, shows that in the early 14th century, Pope Clement V’s investigation of the order absolved the knights of the heresy charges that led to many of them being tortured and burnt.

Knights of Columbus

" The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization.
It was founded by the Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, and named in honor of the navigator Christopher Columbus
Originally serving as a mutual benefit society to low-income immigrant Catholics, it developed into a fraternal service organization dedicated to providing charitable services, promoting Catholic education and actively defending Catholicism in various nations. "
Doc the Baptist?

" To the true Gnostic, death was a liberation from the false prison planet of the Demiurge and his Archons.
It's no surprise then how Gnostic sects like the Druze became such fearsome warriors.

But there's an even older Gnostic sect in the Middle East than the Druze or the Alawi, one that the Templars almost certainly came into contact with and one that would explain the reverence for John the Baptist in esoteric orders.
No less an authority than Josephus recorded that the Jews believed it was the execution of John and not Jesus that was believed to have brought the wrath of God down upon them in the civil wars that led to the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in the First Century:
The Mandaeans (literally, "the knowers") are the only surviving Gnostics from the time of late Antiquity. They have dwelled for the past eighteen hundred years in southern Iraq and southwest Iran, and increasingly, as a result of recent wars, in other parts of the world. They adhere to the typical Gnostic doctrines and mythologies regarding the soul's entrapment in earthly life and the existence of a heavenly Lightworld, the soul's true home.
Being baptists, the Mandaeans consider John the Baptist their main prophet and renewer of the religion, which, they say, ultimately stems from Adam himself. The Mandaeans live next to but remain apart from their (mostly Moslem) neighbors, and throughout the centuries they have preserved their traditions to a remarkable degree. "

Jacques de Molay: the Last Templar Knight?

" The last Grand Master of the Knights Templar was Jacques de Molay, a Frankish noble who had promised to reform the order when he was elected on April 20, 1292.
He proved unable to counter the attacks made against the order because of their financial power.
He confessed to all manner of crimes while under torture, but he later recanted which infuriated King Philip the Fair who had him burned at the stake with two other Templar leaders on an island in the river Seine in Paris on March 18, 1314."

The year 1985 adds up to 23 with the last official Grand Master of the KT being the 23rd.
All just coincidence??

" Jacques de Molay (est. 1244-5/1249-50 - 18 March 1314), a minor Frankish noble, served as the 23rd, and officially last, Grand Master of the Knights Templar, and is probably the best known Templar besides the order's founder and first grand master, Hugues de Payns"

"Doc" (Giordano Bruno) Brown?
The trial of Giordano Bruno by the
Roman Inquisition by Ettore Ferrari
"Giordano Bruno (Italian pronunciation: [dΚ’orˈdano ˈbruno]; 1548 – February 17, 1600), (Latin: Iordanus Brunus Nolanus) born Filippo Bruno, was an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, mathematician and astronomer
His cosmological theories went beyond the Copernican model in proposing that the Sun was essentially a star, and moreover, that the universe contained an infinite number of inhabited worlds populated by other intelligent beings.
After the Roman Inquisition found him guilty of heresy, he was burned at the stake.
After his death he gained considerable fame, particularly among 19th- and early 20th-century commentators who, focusing on his astronomical beliefs, regarded him as a martyr for free thought and modern scientific ideas.
Some assessments suggest that Bruno's ideas about the universe played a smaller role in his trial than his pantheist beliefs, which differed from the interpretations and scope of God held by the Catholic Church.
In addition to his cosmological writings, Bruno also wrote extensively on the art of memory, a loosely organized group of mnemonic techniques and principles.
The work of Frances Yates, especially influential in anglophone scholarship, argues that Bruno was deeply influenced by Arab astrology, Neoplatonism and Renaissance Hermeticism.
Other studies of Bruno have focused on his qualitative approach to mathematics and his application of the spatial paradigms of geometry to language. "

  1. Great stuff! I can certainly see a Grail mythos in the story line, now that you point it out. Lorraine is both his mother and his lover (Mary and Mary Magdalene) - the divine feminine principle of which the Templars were so fond, according to The Da Vinci Code.
