The Invisible Man Has a Hollow Ring to It?

I went to the cinema to see the movie 'The Invisible Man' on Monday with my youngest son, and I couldn't help thinking if Leigh's biggest influence when writing this movie wasn't the old Kevin Bacon flick about an invisible stalker, 'Hollow Man'.
I even wondered if when Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) is cooking Bacon and eggs in the kitchen of "the safe house" that this isn't Leigh's way of embedding a (Kevin) Bacon Easter egg into the movie as a shout out to 'Hollow Man'?-)

But hey, maybe I'm just seeing things that ain't there, right?-)
Johnny Depp disappears from the reboot?
I thought it was ironic that Johnny Depp (a victim of domestic violence himself, so it appears now) was originally set to star as 'The Invisible Man' for Universal, until 'The Mummy' bombed and left Leigh to pick up the crumbs with the "reboot".
The Mummy
Ironically, David Koepp who wrote the screenplay for 'The Mummy' is writing and directing a film starring Kevin Bacon called, 'You Should Have Left':-)
The Invisible Man?
The Invisible Man is in cinemas from February 27
Considering that Leigh Whannell was in the movie 'Aquaman' with Johnny Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard, I can't help but see 'The Invisible Man' as a real life dark ironic comedy when looking at the bigger picture surrounding it all.
