I remember seeing bits and pieces of the movie 'Videodrome' on a rented VHS tape my now ex-brother-in-law hired out one night from a video tape rental store and I thought it was totally bonkers.

I watched the movie fully for the first time today after buying a copy through Apple TV (it cost as much to buy as to rent ... so why not buy it?) and listening to the latest 'Weird Studies' podcast episode about the hosts watching a screening of the film at a cinema gathering around Halloween this year.

I think I would have remembered seeing Blondie's nipple in the film if I had have seen the whole movie back in the day, being a red blooded straight young man:-)

I notice that Cronenberg's 'Videodrome' movie didn't make it onto my old "Secret Sun Synchromystic Guru" mate's list of 1983 movies that "broke reality", but Cronenberg's 'The Dead Zone' did;-)

And what sort of "old mate" would I be if I didn't plug Chris' new "profitetic" "prophetic" book about the comics industry (according to him) like he does every chance he gets ... even though I have no intention of reading it?-)

I think I'm gonna have to go on a Cronenberg movie watching binge before the year is over.

I still have Martin's 'Taxi Driver' to watch yet, though ... and maybe a re-watch of 'Killers of the Flower Moon' when it hits Apple TV -
