"The Gold Coast mime who punched a pesky tourist in the face says he
would apologise to the man he hit if given the chance because he does
not condone violence.
Video of 'human statue' David Mulder striking out at a man who deliberately pushed his buttons during a performance in Cavill Avenue has made headlines across the globe.
But the busker told Nine News he's "not proud" of hitting the man despite him "crossing a boundary".
"[Punching someone] is not a thing I want to do or even profess I like doing,"
he said in an exclusive interview with reporter Chris O'Keefe."
Punching mime would 'apologise' to pest
Yeah, I say why punch someone, too ... especially when you have a gun on your hip that is sure to have a silencer on it;-)
I've just thought of a good name for this cowboy mime -

Nobody should have to put up with this kind of terrorism on our streets.
I know that I feel much safer with these new breed of mine watching over me, as I walk the crime riddled malls of my city.

Hmmm. Weird, just incredibly and profoundly weird, Daz. I try to fllow you to some of these places and get hung up on the details!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing to really follow here Trish, just a few pop cultural mime gags.
ReplyDeleteDjango is a cowboy style movie with the catchphrase
"Django,The D is silent".
The mime artist is cowboy, hence silent as well.
"Gloves are off" is a boxing term where someone crosses the line,so the the gloves come off for a real fist fight.Mime artists wear gloves usually.
The busk stops here -
the buck stops here.
Sock in the mouth,sock puppets.
Socks as puppets on arms -
Armed sock puppets.
Django and Cash -
Tango and Cash - buskers with attitude who would like your money.-)
Violin case - gun case.
No syncs here...not yet anyway.
Just having some fun at the busker's expense and trying not to gag on a sock.-)

ReplyDeleteMmmm, it's so easy to theorise!
Funny that a mime artist lashed out, that's the way to get noticed, could alter the face of the 'art'
