This is just a post about one of my favourite Aussie singers and storytellers Archie Roach and a podcast that I recently heard him on that I thought was worth sharing the link to -

"Indigenous singer-songwriter Archie Roach became the voice of the stolen generations with his ballad Took the Children Away.
Removed from his family at the age of three, Archie grew up to be a troubled youth, before finding his feet through music and meeting his life-long partner Ruby Hunter, also a musician and member of the stolen generations.

Archie Roach traces his life from stolen child to indigenous leader and sings the songs which signpost his life.

Arch was born on January 8th, so he had to be a great singer when he shares that date with Elvis and David Bowie on their birthdays;-)

I've seen Archie play live quite a few times now and wrote a post back in 2013 about seeing him play down at 'Boomerang' -
