The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical or esoteric significance."

Well, Speak of the Devil, More Lizards?

On November 30th, 2018, I bought a ceramic lizard and a set of runes with a miniature book from the Ecclectia book and gift shop before I attended another talk on the same street at another bookstore -
Ripples from the Wave?
The rune set and the lizard were only a few inches from each other on the store shelf and the only reason I bought the lizard and the runes was that I knew Gordon White from the 'Rune Soup' blog was giving a talk in this bookshop in January, 2019, from reading a recent post at his blog -
‘SPEAK OF THE DEVIL’ – LIVE PRESENTATION IN JANUARY
A "live" presentation hey Gordon?
We all know "live" spelled backwards is "evil", don't we?-)
Well, I guess Gordon would tell me that I haven't "lived" until I've been to a talk about the "devil" ;-)
The funny thing was that I was only really over at West End on that Friday evening not to really visit bookshops, but because I was chasing butterflies, more or less -
Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit ... Hole?
But lizards had been catching my eye all that week for some reason.
I had just been to see the movie Bohemian Rhapsody before arriving at Ecclectia and had remembered the lizard reference in that movie to one of Freddie's costumes.
Uncover the secrets of "The Stones"?!
The Crown/Queen?
The Crown: All the World's a Stage?
I had even seen 'The Girl in the Spider's Web' that same week and was amused that in the movie she had a pet lizard -
Signs That I Should See 'The Girl in the Spider's Web'?
There is even something for
"The Owl Guy" in the book;-)
Ross and Carrie Meet The Owl Guy: The Mike Clelland Interview
But I was wondering what message the lizards were trying to tell me, not owls.
Lizard Animal Totem Symbolism
"The lizard animal totem is a reliable messenger from
the spiritual realm
They are flexible and highly adaptive to their surroundings, capable of overcoming a plethora of adverse circumstances and personal attacks.
Their ability to thrive in such conditions earns them the symbolism of being able to go with the flow and the inherent value of amalgamating in the wild."
"When the lizards are caught by a predator, they are capable of shedding their tail in order to escape, leaving their captor completely boggled long enough to scurry away under rocks or into the jungle.
Of course, they are able to grow it back with time, but the act still symbolic of quite a sacrifice in the name of survival.
This act is a literal symbol of regeneration and shows us that we are capable of symbolically doing this ourselves.
The new tail is also a symbol of growth and rebirth.
When lizard animal totems regrow the tail that they have shed, they are literally regenerating something that is lost.
If these creatures can physically regrow a lost limb, then we can certainly regenerate parts of our soul metaphorically.
All of these profound capabilities are gifts that should be appreciated and revered.
We, too, possess gifts, albeit not of the same literal nature.
It’s our responsibility to exercise and utilize them at appropriate times so that we can take care of ourselves and live happily and freely, like the lizard.
Although we may not have the same type of physical predator, there are still forces in life that are out to get us and prevent us from succeeding in all that we want."
"Individuals who gravitate to lizard symbols are prone to repetition and often find themselves going through the same cycles.
While this can be positive, it is more often negative and unproductive.
You are not prone to this out of fear of breaking the norm."
Watching the wheel go round?
"Actually, lizard meanings show that you are typically very sound with facing fears.
Rather, your personal energy thrives off of recreating.
Exercise this process and attention to detail to ensure that you are not just riding the same Ferris Wheel over and over again.
Use your talents in new endeavors in addition to perfecting the old."
F#ck Valentine's Day, It's Ferris Wheel Day
Happy Valentine's Day :-)
You Can't Get What You Want If You Don't Know What You Need?
"When a lizard spirit guide comes scurrying across your path, it is time to do some soul-searching. The lizard prompts you to take a good, hard look deep within yourself and determine what is driving you along your path.
Is your ego reigning supreme or are you acting from your heart?
It is crucial to take this introspection seriously, as our egos are masters of deception.
In our search for inner truth, we may have to peel back many superficial layers and address issues and facts that make us uncomfortable.
In order to focus on our dreams, we must focus and listen to what our hearts are truly telling us.
Sometimes, our minds throw a wrench into the mix, but you can always rely on the good intentions of our hearts.
If you see the lizard symbolism in your dreams, the little guy is reminding you of those gifts hidden just beneath the surface.
To be fulfilled and manage your well-being comprehensively, it is your own responsibility to use these gifts.
Otherwise, they are an unfortunate waste."
OK, so maybe the riddle behind the lizard signs might have been solved but what about the runes?
Fay-WHO?
Fehu???
Fehu?!
Another funny thing is that I started reading Sarah Krasnostein's book 'The Trauma Cleaner' this morning and I couldn't help thinking the gloves in the front cover looked like the fehu rune.
And in the intro to the book Sarah writes, "I saw wonders of the dark world, as true of our collective human life as radio stations and birthday cards: walls that had turned soft from mould, food that had liquefied, drinks that had solidified, flies raised on human blood, the pink soap of the recently deceased and eighteen year-old chicken bones lying like runes at the bottom of the pot."
Oddly enough, I saw Bohemian Rhapsody again the next day, as my youngest son had text me on Friday as I was leaving for the cinema to ask if I wanted to see Bohemian Rhapsody on Saturday night.
I told him I was already on my way to see it and he said, well if you like it we can go see Saturday night.
And since there was nothing else on that I wanted to see I saw it again with him.
"The Elder Futhark, Elder FuΓΎark, Older Futhark, Old Futhark or Germanic Futhark is the oldest form of the runic alphabets.
It was a writing system used by Germanic tribes for Northwest Germanic dialects in the Migration Period, the dates of which are debated among scholars.
Runic inscriptions are found on artifacts, including jewelry, amulets, tools, weapons, and, of course, runestones, from the 2nd to the 8th centuries."
Hmm ... spelling?
I guess you never know what the journey holds when it comes to life, but if you are going to do readings it probably is a good idea to know how to spell;-)
