Covid 19, King & The Stand: This Time Last Year No One'd Even Heard of Captain Trips?

Wuhan marks its anniversary
 with TRiUMPh and denial?
I watched the latest episode of 'The Stand' last night and couldn't help thinking the timing of this episode was rather eerie with real life events happening in the world at the moment, considering it's been one year since the emergence of the breakout of the Covid 19 virus from the Chinese city of Wuhan and in the latest episode of 'The Stand' it is mentioned that "This time last year, no one'd even heard of Captain Trips" which is the name of the virus in the Stephen King story that is wiping out the human population of the Earth.

How random is all that ... and LIFE in general, hey?-)
GAB[B]A Lockdown Special: Never Say Never ... Again?
And why doesn't Daniel Johnston's 'Spirit World Rising' get a mention on the soundtrack credits of
'The Stand''s IMDB episode page when it is the song that starts off the episode with a bang?
After-all, it was Dan's birthday the day after
this episode of 'The Stand' aired:-)

  1. Darren...

You keep baiting me with thinly veiled references to the Grateful Dead. As all good deadheads know, “Captain Tripps” was the early, psychedelic-era nickname for Jerry Garcia, the band’s de facto leader. How he earned the title, may or may not have had to do with the Dead’s (then, the Warlocks) house-band status at Ken Kesey’s “Acid Tests.”

  4. Ah yes, the old 11:11 phenomena.
I hadn't taken notice of the time stamp on my comment until I read your last comment Jack.
Well picked up, and it does seem to underscore my comment very nicely I think:-)
