The cicadas of Brood X come out of hibernation underground only once every 17 years in order to mate and lay new eggs in order to conceive the next generation of the brood before dying off.

I find it rather synchromystically ironic that after 17 years of being underground cicadas are storming the capital city of the USA in the year that those Q whackos tried to storm the capital, considering how much emphasis is placed on Q being the 17th letter of the alphabet by those in the know:-) 

When I saw all of the news stories about the "Brood X" cicadas invading Washington D.C. I couldn't help but think of the strange children's book by Australien Shaun Tan which I bought a few years back and all of the alien like artwork in the book that fascinated me.
