When I entered my kitchen last Monday morning, I noticed another mysterious puddle of water just to the side of my lucky bamboo plant ... again.
This had been baffling me for the last few mornings, as I couldn't work out how this water appeared to be somehow running out of a plant pot which had a solid saucer under it and ending up a few inches away from it when I knew I wasn't overfilling the pot with water.
And I couldn't work out why the water had a machine oil like smell when I mopped the bench with a paper towel.
I was born in the Year of the Dragon, the same year as Russell Crowe was, which is another synch, because as I'm writing this post up and looking for a link to Coffs Harbour I see this latest news story about Russell trying to get a movie studio built in Coffs Harbour:-)
Well, that was an unexpected synch, which fits in quite well to this post:-)
The glue joining the plastic together must have dissolved enough to let the water slowly drip out of the bottom of my cheap Chinese souvenir and onto the bench below.
The irony was that I had planned at the start of this year to travel down to Coffs Harbour to see the Sharks play the Gold Coast Titans, but lack of money andCovid restrictions made me change my mind and stay home in Queensland and watch the game on TV.
The Year I bought that monkey at the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour I had driven down to Sydney twice to see the Sharks beat the North Queensland Cowboys, including the semi-final played on my birthday -
The funny thing is that the Sharks are playing the North Queensland Cowboys again this week:-)
I'm hoping for another blue massacre up there on Friday:-)
And another new set of southern Towns villains:-)
I had bought tickets earlier this year to see the Sharks play theCowboys at the Sunshine Coast, but the game got moved to Sydney at the last minute because of a Covidscare up here in Queensland:-(
Anyway, I decided to try and save the monkey out of the snow globe as a keepsake still, and put a pickaxe through the plastic to fish the monkey out.
But the monkey moved, and I chopped its ear and arm off accidentally.
Doh!
So, I threw the whole lot out and decided to put my Tamworthsnow globe in its place on the kitchen shelf.
I'm not sure if this is a sign I should book my tickets and accommodation for the game down in Tamworthin August, or stay home and watch it on TV, as well:-)
Maybe I should make a weekend of it and take my hoodie, as well?
