Memoir of a Snail?ðŸŽĨ✍🐌🎎ðŸĶ‰

I was booked in to get my
Lions tattoo done yesterday and decided that I would see a movie at the cinema near the tattoo shop after I had had it done.
There were only two choices for me really, 'Smile 2' and 'Memoir of a Snail'.
The 2024 AFL Grand Final Line Up Sure Brings a Smile to My Face?😁
I thought maybe I should see this movie another day:-)
I had decided the night before when looking up the times the movies were on at the cinema that I would probably go see 'Smile 2', but the morning I was about to set off to go get my tattoo done I was listening to Mike Clelland's latest podcast interview, and he mentioned seeing a snail trail that looked like an owl.
So, I changed my mind and decided on 'Memoir of a Snail' instead of 'Smile 2'.
What Does It Mean When You See An OWL? ðŸĶ‰ðŸ‘€
This was the final session for
'Memoir of a Snail' run crawl at Vic Point, so if I wanted to see it later, I would have see it at another cinema in Brisbane.
If I hadn't had heard Mike mention seeing a snail form an "owl" with its trail in that podcast I'd listened to that morning I would have picked 'Smile 2' to see.
I bought a ticket to 'Memoir of a Snail' then had lunch before seeing the movie.
Even the carpet in
cinema 4 had snail like patterns to my eyes, which reminded me of the one and only time so far that I've eaten snails, which I wrote about in this old post -
Fibonacci, French Food and Synch?
The funny thing was that there was nearly as many apple images in this movie as snails -
The Apple as a Symbol of Forbidden/Secret Knowledge? 🍎🍏
I enjoyed this movie, as being an Australian and growing up around a similar time frame as the director/writer of this movie, there is a lot of nostalgic elements that overseas audiences won't pick up on.
And the same with the Aussie locations and landmarks featured in this film, such as the Canberra pool scene with the Telstra Tower on Black Mountain in the distance -
Black (Iron Prison?) Mountain
I just don't think overseas audiences (especially American audiences) will get the movie like Australians will.
I actually had a chance to see a Q&A screening with Adam Elliot the director/writer of the movie at a Brisbane cinema about two weeks ago, which I had planned on going to, but the stars just didn't line up at the last moment for me.
And I had planned on seeing it at a Logan City film festival before that, but same story.
I guess I have Mike Clelland the "Owl Guy" for finally twisting my arm to go and see it yesterday, not that he really had anything to do with the film or even knows the movie exists.
It's those darn owls that he hangs around with that were responsible for drawing my attention to seeing this film and I'm glad the "universe" steered me in that direction yesterday:-)
It's a film I'll be seeing again to freeze frame to see all the stuff I missed ... including any owls and aliens ... which I don't recall seeing anyway:-)
8 out of 10 for me too for this movie, because snails could form a sideways 8 (the infinity symbol) in their trails even if they can't travel backwards:-)

What is it with owls and snails?
And the Devil?-)
