The cover designed by Storm Thorgerson |
"British graphic designer Storm Thorgerson, best known
for designing the iconic cover of Pink Floyd's 1973 classic album The
Dark Side of the Moon, has died aged 69.
More recently Thorgerson
created the artwork for records released by Australian bands
Powderfinger and Pendulum, as well as Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro and
British stadium act Muse. He was a childhood friend of Pink Floyd's founding members before becoming the band's design chief.
His most famous creation featured a prism of glass dispersing light into its component colours."

King Uke sent me this picture -
All in all, it's just another uke on the wall, in my books;-)
That 'Dark Side of the Moon' design was a classic. Hadn't heard that he had died.
ReplyDeleteOff subject - in UK newspapers now about Rolf Harris.
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteI saw the Rolf Harris story just about go live on the BBC website last night.
It got me thinking that when I first heard the rumours weeks ago and told some family members about Rolf Harris being arrested, some took the possibility in their stride while others treated me like I was some kind of sick wacko, because if it was true the news media would have informed them pretty much right away, they reasoned,so I must be the paranoid one who will believe anything in their books.
Which makes me feel how futile it would be if you could travel to the future and see some great catastrophe that could be avoided, then travel back and try to warn your fellow humans.
Most would just ignore you, want to lock you away,or kill you.
Most people don''t want to hear the messenger, they just want to kill them.
I worry about the majority of the world population who can't,or won't think for themselves and just takes as Gospel everything the media tells them as fact without doing a bit of research for themselves.
It almost makes me lose hope to be amongst such idiots and know that some of them are relatives and family that treat me with the kind of respect that they would as if I was a homeless leper telling them that the end was nigh.
Freud considered shooting the messenger as a defence action - fending off what is distressing or unbearable.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people simply do not want to know the truth if it might upset their life pattern or beliefs.
As for those friends and neighbours, isn't their something about 'forgive them for they know not what they do.'
It's not about forgiveness,it's about being frustrated at the disrespectful attitude shown from others who should know better, especially family members.
ReplyDeleteSorry that to read that you are feeling that way. Hope things improve.
ReplyDeleteThis might seem a little out of place following the previous comments, but how about this? http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/943051_521245277939524_1284126815_n.jpg
