Iconic Hong Kong floating restaurant sinks in South China Sea: A METAphor for the Times We are Living in?

Jumbo floating restaurant, a once famed but financially struggling Hong Kong tourist attraction, sank in the South China Sea after being towed away from the city, its parent company said.
It’s the End of the World as We Know it ... and the BOOM💥ERS?
It also featured in several films, including Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion, about a deadly global pandemic.
