  2. I'm doing OK mate, but the Australian government has closed the country to outsiders (well, no non-Australians anyway), so you won't be able to physically drop by for God knows how many weeks from today.
And I'm not even sure if we are allowed out of Australia, either.
Not that I have ever done so since a 10 day trip to NZ in 1977.
And even us mainland Aussies have to spend 14 days in self isolation if we want to visit our own island state of Tasmania.
Sounds like things are worse over on your side of the planet with your capitalist "health care" system.
At least the Aussie system is like our Commonwealth cousin countries in the UK and Canada.
I heard that one of Rita Wilson's band members flew back to the US and couldn't get tested for Corona-virus because he wasn't showing any symptoms.
Something to do with America's BS health insurance rules.
That health insurance red tape will be the death of America the way this virus is spreading around the world.
I know which country I'd rather be in when it comes to this virus shit-storm and I'm in that country now.
Stay safe buddy, and thanks for asking.
    Cheers.

  3. It's funny you mention the healthcare system because I just saw a Tweet on Twitter asking people where they'd run to. All I could think about was "there's nowhere to run to", and thought about how we've made it so.
You can probably ask any homeless person or anyone a bit down on their luck "where one can run to", and they're likely to only be able to give you a massive list of places one cannot run to.

No areas of refuge or for respite, no havens, nowhere to convalesce, nowhere to start again unless you are already "in the loop(s)".
It occurred to me that insurance and insurances of all kinds have contributed to make this so.
But, I just saw the tweet and haven't thought about it much past that.

Glad you're ok tho, and ya'll stay safe and sane over there.
Well, sane-ish...ya'll Aussies are completely nuts already. ;-P

On a side-note, kinda funny your "sync or swim" Jaws image. I wrote a recent post for my friend RooBeeDoo's Library of Library blog in the UK, and a song called "Jaws" (which, yes, it's about the shark/movie) by Lemon Demon popped up in my playlist as I was writing, so I used it in the post.
Your blog is always kinda syncy for me tho. /shrug
    Cheers.

  4. You're right about us Aussies being insane (but in a good way ... mostly), as most of us see the funny side of life and try not to take life too seriously, unless we are fighting over the toilet paper in supermarket isles, or our footy team loses.
Although, it's a bit hard to watch teams playing in empty football stadiums this year.
The Gold Coast Titans fans won't notice that much difference this year though;-)
And I like your "running" metaphor, although maybe in the year (let's hope it doesn't last anywhere near a year) of corona-virus and lack of toilet paper that it's best say "keep on swimming" rather than to say "keep on running":-)
