The Mysterious Universe of Fungi, Weeds ... and Feathers?

I stepped outside (... of the box?-) Boxing Day morning to throw some trash into my wheelie bin and fill the birdbath with clean water for my bird pals, and I noticed some incredible fungi growth on the old tree stumps in my garden, which made me think of the last 'Mysterious Universe' podcast about plants that I wrote about at this link -
I'm always amazed when after a bout of rain these fungi mysteriously appear from seemingly nowhere, and then a few days later they are gone again.
Unfortunately, a bout of rainy weather also tends to bring the weeds up between my pavers, as well.
A crow feather in my backyard among the weeds
I also found a crow feather laying on my pavers among the weeds on Boxing Day for the first time since I have lived here, which considering that crows have frequented my backyard on an almost daily basis for the last three years seemed somehow odd to me that I hadn't found one in my backyard before now.
Bird Card Medicine?
I had just given my book 'Bird Medicine' to the Bribie Island Book Exchange last Wednesday, along with a whole bunch of other books, too -
It's Not the Number of Moments That Make Up Life ...?
What struck me when I bent down to pick up the crow feather was the tiny white flowers on the "weeds" growing in the sand between my pavers.
The Hummingbird Effect/s?
Ironically, I had also just given my last Robert Moss book that I owned away to the book exchange, and it was titled
'Sidewalk Oracles':-)
Isn't moss a weed like plant that likes the rain, too?-)
A photo of my plant, Robert:-)
