Brisbane Lions Hand "The Pies" Their First Defeat of the Season on Pi Day?-)

Pi Day
Well, what are the odds of my footy club the Brisbane Lions beating undefeated "Pies" on March 14th (AKA Pi Day)?-

  1. Pi date was brilliant sync, capped it off with the Lions over the Pies...Sharks played a good game. Tough won this week, should be a ripper. Dreading our fixture against the Cocks

    1. And here is another Sharks/Lions synch, if you take the Lions/Pies scores 35+32=67.
'67 is the year the Sharkies entered the NRL comp, or the NSWRL or whatever it was called back then ... comp.
Any mad Sharkies fan like me knows that there is a whole line of '67 merchandise for sale in the club's shop :-)

    2. πŸ˜‚... ‘67 was your wooden spoon and wasn’t it a Shark (or Chinese sub) that killed Harold Holt.

    3. That's why we have a Chinese restaurant in the main grandstand.
We shred all of the wooden spoons we have won over the years and recycle them as chop-sticks and serve them with bowls of shark fin soup in honour of another famous Aussie PM who came under attack and just couldn't KEEP SWIMMING ;-)

That comment in no way endorses any banned Dr.Seuss book either ;-)

    4. We actually do have a Chinese restaurant in the main grandstand, too.
That part of the comment was no Dr.Seuss like joke :-)

    5. :D haha you’re kidding ...I don’t venture outside my area in case I get abducted by aliens so I take your word for it. If I don’t get 8 this week then I’ll have to rethink my sync / Chinese zodiac tipping idea and base it on something more irrational like form.

  2. This Saturday (barring a Covid lock-down/switch to Melbourne) the AFLW game against the Roos is the curtain raiser for the AFL Lions v Swans game at the Gabba.
    And I've got my tickets.
    GO THE LIONS!!!x2

    1. I’ve tipped your lads this week. Sounds like a great day out will be a double for the lions for sure ...

    2. So far the forecast for Saturday is rain and my son has bought us front row tickets in the upper level of the stands, so I might need to wear my wet weather gear like I wore at the grand final last year.
At least at the GF we were dry during the game.
We got soaked in the downpour walking to and queuing up at the gates for the GF.

    3. Should be a dour game... Swans to lock it in at stoppages to blunt your run. Wear a Sharks hat I’ll see if I can find you through my schooner at the local.

    4. I'm not wearing my Sharks hat to a Lions game.
