The Road Ahead?

Looking through my latest Queensland 'The Road Ahead' members magazine I noticed an article titled 'MOTORFEST Looks to the Future' that states,"After a COVID-impacted 2020, RACQ's annual celebration of all things automotive will return on Sunday 13 June at the new venue and with a fresh focus on the cars of tomorrow."

Then I see this story below at the Australian ABC news site.

Houston, we have a problem?

Two men have died after a Tesla vehicle, which was believed to be operating without anyone in the driver's seat, crashed into a tree on Saturday night north of Houston, authorities said.

Then I noticed an ABC news story about climate change, featuring a guy wearing a Sharks jersey, which just happens to be the team I support, too:-)

Then I read this article in my 'The Road Ahead' about fare-welling Morris, which being a Sharkie supporter I found ironic, as the Sharks just fired their coach John Morris, which I had written about in this recent post -

Surveys show Australians want

Then I see an article about K'gari Island in 'The Road Ahead' and thought to myself, gee that looks a lot like Fraser Island ... and that's because it is/was Fraser Island.

Is this an official name change I wonder, or is the magazine letting us all know that we better get used to the name on the road ahead?

And I guess it won't be long until the Fraser Coast gets an official indigenous name change, too.

As will Brisbane, Queensland and Australia, no doubt ... along with a heap of other colonial names?

Or maybe Australians could come up with a compromise and rename the Fraser Coast after star Aussie athlete Dawn Fraser, instead of Liz Fraser and her legend of being stranded on Fraser Island K'gari years ago?-)
