All Our Shimmering Skies ... and Deluded Eyes?

A lone swallow flying over Boggo Road Gaol I spotted while on tour
I went on an 'Escapes Tour' of the Boggo Road Gaol on Thursday afternoon with my youngest son, after we had both seen the stage play adapted from the successful novel 'Boy Swallows Universe' on Tuesday night, which I first wrote about buying to read in this old post -
A Local Magick Shop Disappears in all of the 2020 Chaos?-)
The first words (spell) of 'Boy Swallows Universe'
Another reason not to drop the soap in the shower?-)
Soap guns and water don't mix:-)
Did someone say free BREAKFAST?-)
My son shouted me the tour of the jail and a
breakfast/brunch just down the road from the jail at the Penny Coffe Co. as part of my birthday/Father's Day presents.
Last Tuesday night seeing the stage play at QPAC
Deepak Chopra: Stairway to Heaven, the Synchrodestiny of Boy Swallows Universe ... and God Don't Play Dice ... ?
Is that a skull in the coffee shop mural?-)
My prison tour attire on the day:-)
Finch, an ex-jail bird maybe?-)
I had decided to wear my 2020 Bluesfest t-shirt since a lock-down was looming for Brisbane at the time and plus the goal was meant to be haunted with 42 hangings having taken place there as well, as suicides and murders behind bars.
Bluesfest 2020: The Festival That Never Took Place?
But maybe there are ghosts all over the suburb by the looks of things from my coffee shop table?
Funny thing was I had started reading Trent Dalton's novel
'All Our Shimmering Skies' which I had bought at the same time as 'Boy Swallows Universe' and had decided that morning when looking at Penny's internet menu that I would get the salmon meal, but while it was on the internet menu, it wasn't on the coffee shop menu and I had to settle for my second pick, the Woodland Mushroom meal, which wasn't too bad to be honest.
Maybe I was just tripping out with my recollection in flashback?-)
Funny thing was I had a gut feeling that the salmon would be off the menu that day for some reason of cosmic doubt:-)
... well mushrooms at least:-)
Is a 3 legged black cat lucky I wonder?-)
I asked my son why he picked the Penny Coffe Co. to eat at and he told me that it was the closest coffee shop to the jail on his phone map, but there was one right next to the jail ... and a lot cheaper, too:-)
And there was some interesting artwork near that coffee shop, but I enjoyed my meal further down the road and the somber artwork around the shop.
Two Dads Coffee
And there was a coffee shop over the road from the ex-prison called 'Two Dads Coffee' which has a mouth-watering photo shoot on
its Facebook page:-)
Ah ... such is life, as they say around these parts ... maybe?-)
Another favourite bird of mine, a magpie:-)
Ned Kelly is said to have said this before being hung
The Wall?
"What are you in 4 then?":-)
I have to admit that it is rather freaky to see your youngest son's name written outside off a prison cell and wonder how you would cope if that ever became a reality.
I actually never knew what the name Sean meant until I looked the meaning up for this post, as my ex-wife chose the name because her brother was named Sean, which means John, which was her late father's name.
There's no chair in there ...
... or stories to tell?
More skulls, and not to mention Nazi bats?
All Our Shimmering Skies?
And what really freaked me out on the tour (and this wasn't the ghost tour remember) was that when we were standing next to the fence inside the prison walls listening to the tour guide talking about fabled prison escapes over the prison wall, I looked up beyond the wall and swear on my son's and my life that I saw a cloud formed in the shape of a skull, much like the crystal skull I wrote about in this old Father's Day post -
Do you see a crystal like skull, or is it just me?
Maybe I should be locked up in a padded cell, but I swore that I saw a replica of a crystal like skull formed by the clouds just before I could get a snapshot on my phone to try and back up what I saw in the sky.
And I showed half of the tour group just after I took it to try and prove to my self that I wasn't the only one who could see a skull in the clouds.
Maybe I should give up eating mushrooms before doing tours in future?-)
And oddly enough one of the girls on the tour who I showed the photo to was involved in the stage play of 'Boy Swallows Universe' and she was carrying library type bag that was advertising mushrooms ... the legal kind I'm sure ... unless I was tripping out from the mushrooms I ate at brunch:-)
The s#it they try to sell you at the end of a tour?-)
For doing number 1s and 2s into:-)
Such is life, as they say:-)
