What If ... Organs Have Their Own Consciousness?πŸ’“πŸ§

Being on an Edgar Allan Poe influenced movie binge at the moment and especially just having watched the 1960 movie 'The Tell-Tale Heart', I thought it was personally synchromystic that on the latest 'Bledsoe Said So' episode (above) it was mentioned the possibility of organs like the heart may have their own consciousness separate from the thinking mind.
The Tell-Tale Heart (1960)
Either way, it makes for a great metaphor for emotional thinking vs rational thinking, I guess.
Also, on that BSS episode Ryan mentions the metaphors for time, which made me think of Poe's 'The Pit and the Pendulum' being a metaphorical story for the passing of time and life, while pondering the afterlife ... or no life at all.
Apart from reading
Poe's stories I'm also reading a book on Icelandic sagas and Ryan and Co. mention 'The Northman' and 'Vikings' and their myths.
Emily (2022)
And where else have I heard the name Emily lately?
