Synchromysticism

Queen Grace Fraser?

Nicole Kidman wearing a crown/corona in a Queensland newspaper?
'The Undoing' starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Fraser
Nicole as Princess Grace
I thought my old blogging mate Chris Knowles over at
'The Secret Sun' blog who has an obsession with everything Elizabeth Fraser, Tim & Jeff Buckley would find it either amusing, alarming (siren joke there:-) or both, that Nicole Kidman stars as Grace Fraser in the HBO series 'The Undoing':-)
Synchromysticism
tends to amuse me, more than alarm me, but I do like reading the continuing Secret Sun saga of the Siren and
But then again I am a fan boy of Peter Gabriel the Secret Sun super-villain:-)
The Little Mermaid/Siren Meme?
'The Undoing' opening song sung by Nicole
We're heading into summer down here in Oz, so it's hard to be California Dreamin' in November, but I can try and dream about it I guess;-)
Golden Dawn Fraser?!
Nicole was only a little baby when that Mamas and Papas song above was aired in '67, and I wasn't that far in front of her, as far as entering this world went.
The Pineapple Princesses of Oz?
But synchromysticism does fascinate me, whether it is real or imagined, as I'm reading the co-authored Chris Knowles' book about 'The X-Files' called 'The Complete X-Files: Behind the Series the Myths and the Movies', which just celebrated its 12 year anniversary on November 11th, 2020, according to Amazon.
And my last post was about a recent X-Files episode I had watched this week, where I mentioned that my next post would be about Chris Knowles -
Fatherland?
Well this is that post I promised ... obviously.
The sunny looking school gates out of 'The Undoing'
Gold wreaths from Thrace?
Nicole as Sophia, alias Nadia
I noticed a lot of traffic coming from Bulgaria and Russia yesterday after posting my 'Fatherland' post for some reason.
And since I had no idea just where in Europe Bulgaria was I looked it up on Wikipedia and was stunned to see that in a museum in the Bulgarian city of Sofia was a crown that looked like the one Nic was wearing in the Queensland October Newspaper.
The Newspaper Nic's crown shot was in
GAB[B]A Lockdown Special: Never Say Never ... Again?
My other sync-head "mate" (who now thinks I'm shithouse at synchromysticism according to his Always Recordings rants that I think a mainly shithouse) Alan Green over at 'SyncBook Press' might want to have a closer read of that newspaper Nicole's crown shot was in?-)
Just to take his paranoia up one more notch:-)
Whatever Alan, all I know is that the best team (my team the Brisbane Lions:-) didn't make it to the AFL Grand Final, won by those damn Richmond Tigers.
And what was the name of that Aussie guy who kept messaging you about the AFL finals Alan?
Nick?-)
The Undoing most popular show on Binge?
'The Undoing' is based on the novel 'You Should Have Known' by Jean Hanff Korelitz, but the Grace character in the novel doesn't have the surname of Fraser.
David E. Kelley is the person credited for rewriting the
'You Should Have Known' novel for the screen, so why the surname change from Sachs to Fraser, only he would know I guess.
David did write the teleplay for the 2011 TV movie 'Wonder Woman' so maybe he had read Chris Knowles 'Our Gods Wear Spandex' book before, or after writing that movie and has been a secret Secret Sun reader since?-)
I find it amusing that Grace Fraser's nemesis in New York City in 'The Undoing' is played by an actress named Matilda De Angelis, whose birthday falls on September 11th:-)
Matilda De Angelis was born on September 11, 1995?
And most Aussies know what happened to the Swagman in the song 'Waltzing Matilda', don't we?-)
I also like how Nicole's character Grace Fraser's father is played by Kiefer's father Donald Sutherland, since I'm a life member of the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks Rugby League Club who just happened to win their first ever NRL Grand Final trophy in 2016 when I was there on the sideline to see Nic's husband Keith Urban sing before the Big Dance got underway:-)
Six Degrees of Separation?
Starring Nicole Kidman as Marsha:-)
Nicole is down in Byron Bay filming the adaptation of
Liane Moriarty's novel 'Nine Perfect Strangers' for a TV series at the moment.
Guided by The Light?
I was heading down to Byron Bay from Queensland for an event next Tuesday, but as fate would have it the event sold out before I could get a ticket:-(
And that's no lie, either:-)
I still have to finish reading 'Big Little Lies' and then start reading 'Nine Perfect Strangers' before it hits the small screen.
Not to mention reading Chris Knowles' X-Files book, as well as watch the other 5 seasons of the TV show.

  1. Damn, Dazza. This is a massive sync drop like I've not seen for a while. It's going to take some time for me to sort through all this. Any further guidance is appreciated.

  2. Yeah, it's a huge one alright Chris and I could have easily have made it 10 times bigger, but it's probably a ridiculous and off putting read for most readers as it is ... not that I really care, as most of the time I'm writing just as much for my own amusement just to put my thoughts down like a kind of public, but not too personal electronic diary, a bit like how you see those characters in movies where they have all sorts of shit like newspaper and magazine cutouts, maps and photos pinned to a wall, all joined together with cobwebs of red string linking to further future clues in whatever it is they think they are trying to piece together.
I don't make a cent off this blog, so I don't have to rely on pleasing the reader of this blog to make my living.
I write to please myself and if others like what I post then fine, if they don't then there are plenty of other blogs out there they can go read I say to people like Loren Coleman and Alan Green, who have directly and indirectly made it known to me that this blog is shit ... as if their work was any better:-)
This post started out as a "post still in progress" where I only had a brief idea of where it was going to head, but as I went along I discovered more than I had bargained for.
There are still about half a dozen or so future posts that will run off this one, or refer back to it.
I was basically writing this post while watching the first 3 episodes of 'The Undoing' (which is all that is up on the Binge platform right now) pausing the show and then researching something, posting it and then watching from where I had left off.
I'm also trying to get through all of 'The X-Files' episodes on Amazon Prime while reading your book that you co-wrote about the show 12 years ago.
I'm not a fan of the show and can see why I never got into the show at the time is was airing on network TV, but from a pop-cultural and synchromystic perspective and looking back in hindsight there are some things I'm finding and blogging about as I go along through the series that keep me going in my quest to get through all 217 episodes.
My angle here is a purely synchromystic one, and not a conspiratorial one, as I don't believe in some human type of Illuminati group running Hollywood, or the planet like dickhead bloggers such as that sick f#ck Horse-loving Fat at 'Subliminal Snchro-Sphere' does.
Sure I believe there are conspiracies and bad people in every group of humans on the planet, but as far as some great Illuminati like plot goes, I don't see any evidence of that happening in one great group of people all working together to take over the world.
And I don't believe in an entity like Satan, Lucifer or the Devil, as some fundamentalist religious people do, either.
As far as I'm concerned there is only one great magician who makes the grass grow, as Robert Anton Wilson would say, and if there is "a war in heaven" then it's being played out between one great schizophrenic Force that we are all a part of:-)

I'm not too sure what further guidance you were after from me Chris, but anything specific just ask and I'll try and answer your query.
Oh, and good book about a shitty and inconsistent TV show Chris.
I'm enjoying the book, I just wish that I could say that about the TV show, too.
    Cheers.
