I was listening to Mike Clelland on the latest 'Strange Planet' podcast and heard Mike tell Richard that he was 60 years old at present, and since I know Mike's birthday is in August that means Mike was born in 1962, the Year of the Water Tiger.
Which made me wonder if there is such a thing as a Tiger Owl, and a search on the internet showed me there was, the Great Horned Owl is also known as the Tiger Owl:-)
Might be a message in there somewhere?
August 22 - Southern Hemisphere [W]Hoodie-[W]Hoo Day?-)Do the Owl: Steve Irwin and The Wiggles |
"The great horned owl (Bubo virginianus), also known as the tiger owl (originally derived from early naturalists' description as the "winged tiger" or "tiger of the air"), or the hoot owl, is a large owl native to the Americas. It is an extremely adaptable bird with a vast range and is the most widely distributed true owl in the Americas. Its primary diet is rabbits and hares, rats and mice, and voles, although it freely hunts any animal it can overtake, including rodents and other small mammals, larger mid-sized mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates."
It certainly is a strange, but cruel planet we, the owls and tigers live on, isn't it?
