Once Upon a Time in HOLLYWOODLAND?

What is it with years ending in 9 and their anniversaries in HOLLYWOOD?
I finished reading my copy of Kenneth Anger's infamous book 'Hollywood Babylon' today and in it was the tragic story of actress Peg Entwistle who Anger claimed in the book jumped off the D in the then HOLLYWOODLAND sign, but other reports say she jumped off the H.
In 1949 (70 years ago this year) the HOLLYWOODLAND sign was reduced from the original 13 letters to the now familiar 9.

Tarantino brings his 9th movie to cinema screens this year, which focuses on the events of 1969.
That's one movie for each letter of the HOLLYWOOD sign in a way.

Even Kenneth Anger had a film in 1969, so there is another 50 year anniversary to celebrate this year ... maybe?

'Hollywood Babylon' into a prequel of his ninth film for his 10th and final (yeah, right only 10 films Quentin) film;-)
