Punching Horses and Blazing Saddles?

I saw a disgusting story about a jockey punching a female horse in the stomach before a race in South Australia this week -
Jockey Dylan Caboche suspended for punching horse before race at Port Lincoln
and I couldn't help but think that the only time I can remember horses getting punched was in the movie 'Blazing Saddles'.
Then I see in the news last night that John Hillerman, the US actor who shot to fame as snooty English caretaker Higgins in Tom Selleck's '80s TV series Magnum PI and starred in 'Blazing Saddles', has died at the age of 84.
John Hillerman, Magnum PI star, dies at 84
Hillerman's publicist said he died of natural causes on Thursday at his home in Houston, Texas.
I think the quote from 'Blazing Saddles' by Hillerman's character Howard Johnson sums up the act of that horse punching jockey at the top of this post and how most people would react to seeing something like that while attending a race meeting.
Well, most people attending a race meeting that is;-)
Paris Jackson criticises Australian media for Melbourne Cup Day coverage
And it wasn't good news for 'Regal Monarch' on Melbourne Cup Day either.
