The music store owner said there had been a run-on equipment so people could play their music online, and even a run-on podcast equipment.
Podcasting, that's the modern equivalent of busking, where you beg for passersby to your podcast site to leave a five-star review, or throw in the cash donation of the equivalent of a cup of coffee each month/week to keep the podcast going, because what do you think most podcasters do it for, the love of it?-)
Sounds a lot like blogging to me;-)
I have no ambitions of making a podcast, or ever being the guest on one for that matter.
I do like listening to good free podcasts though, and there are more of them on the net/pod/pad than dollar coins in my net worth of everything I will ever own.
But for the last 30+ years I've been telling myself, gee I think I could write some really profitable songs, if only I knew how to write music, or could play a guitar, or piano.
Wouldn't it be great to have a profitable stable of hit songs, and let the royalties just come in?
Even if someone way more talented than I could even be brought in to sing them.
Tell God your plans?-) |

I even bought a beginner's guitar that was on special at the local supermarket a few years back, not to write those dream hit fantasy songs of my youth, but just to tick off that bucket list goal of finally learning to play the guitar.
I think I have taken it out of the box once, strummed it, then put it back in the box and promised myself I'd start tomorrow.
And tomorrow hasn't come yet.
I even bought an electric piano from the same store a week or two later, and it never even got taken out of its box.

It rests among the Christmas tree decorations in another cupboard, waiting for the Christmas that I decide to take it out of the box:-)
I even have a set of bongos, which I do like to pretend I can play, and convince myself that I'm not bad for someone with no musical talent, so far that is.
But the truth is that apart from torturing the neighbours with my very occasional bongo playing, I'm probably never going to motivate myself enough to learn the guitar, or piano.
I have no urge to play them, no matter how many sealed music books I have bought over the years to urge me to.

Forget my Spanish CDs I think too, it's probably no way, JosΓ©, Soy muy vago?

I wonder if it's too late in life for me to win some prestigious art contests?-)
I should probably 'Think Small' when it comes to money and art, at least at first, anyway -

Maybe I should just follow my heart when it comes to what I should do in life?
There is probably no more a rewarding art than following your own heart when it comes to your life and life's work.
I will throw a dollar in your cup if you throw one in mine!
ReplyDeleteThe Australian Dollar is only worth about 67 cents to the American dollar, so you would lose out there Delorus:-)
ReplyDeleteI've never made a cent off this blog Delorus, so I say why start now?-)
I am just making plans for our busking days, if we have to trade dollars at least we won't be "skunked", as we say here!
ReplyDeleteMaybe people will pay me to stop singing...
