Milton Glaser: Graphic Designer Behind 'I ♥ NY' Logo Dies Aged 91 and in 2020 the Year of the Rat?

'I NY' RAT MOUSE
Born June 26th, and
 died
June 26th?!
Milton Glaser, the renowned graphic designer who created the iconic I Heart NY logo, died on June 26, which was his 91st birthday.
In 1966, Glaser designed a poster for Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits.
"One of Glaser's most recognizable works is his I Love New York logo.
In the mid-1970s, New York City's crime rate was up and the city was widely perceived to be dangerous and was on the verge of bankruptcy.
In 1977, the State of New York hired advertising agency Wells Rich Greene and Milton Glaser to design a logo to increase tourism.
It was Glaser who came up with the design while sitting in the back of a taxicab on the way to the meeting.
The logo consists of the capital "I" and a red heart, stacked on top of the letters "NY" in American Typewriter typeface, symbolizing New York.
His inspiration for the logo was Robert Indiana's LOVE design, with the four letters stacked on top of each other.
"Glaser loved New York so much that he gave his work to the city for free, hoping it would become public property."

Milton Glaser was born in 1929, which was the year that the first public phone booths appear in London and a total of over 200,000 die from Influenza Epidemic.
Milton sure was born and died in some interesting years as far as world history goes, don't you think?-)

  1. I have seen in old articles that you have analyzed Back to the Future.
I found a video showing the connections between Back to the Future 3 and the coronavirus: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o4CYJbDDAnc
What do you think about it?

  2. To be honest, I was never a real big fan of the BTTF films until Joe was asking for input from us "sync-heads" when he was making his 'BTTF Predicts 9/11' video.
I had a lot of cutting room floor stuff that didn't make it into Joe's film after watching the 3 films and I made the leftover theories into posts, so the stuff was out there for people to mull over it.
I liked my theory about the big speaker being a representation of the A-bomb that was dropped on Japan, which I feel the BTTF writers were probably hinting at in the subtext of those movies.
But the thing with worldwide pandemics is that they aren't a unique event like two planes being flown into two buildings.
Or buildings being detonated with explosives after two remote controlled planes (with or without the original passengers) were flown into them?
Personally, I don't think the BTTF makers had insider knowledge about 9/11.
Like they say in 'Forrest Gump' "s#it Happens".

  4. You're welcome Slim.
But don't let me discourage your exploration of the BTTF movies and Corona-virus.
I'm just sick of watching BTTF after sifting through the movies over the last few years to help Joe with his great little movie.
Maybe 'Forrest Gump' starring Mr.Corona-virus himself might bring you more synchromystical gold?
I mean, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get/find:-)
