Splendour in the Grass, the Simpson Desert Festival and Drugs?

I listened to two of 'THE OSHER GรœNSBERG PODCAST's this week.
One at the beginning of the week where Osher interviewed Jess Ducrou about Splendour in the Grass - an annual music festival which is coming up on 20 years of gigs, and also the problems of drug overdoses happening at music festivals around Australia lately and the subject of pill testing at such events -
Punters, police and pills: Making Splendour splendid with Jess Ducrou
And then last night just before I hit the sack, I listened to Osher's 14-minute July 19th check-in where he mentioned the interview with Jess and how a woman had sent in a podsie of herself from the Simpson Desert Festival (AKA The Big Red Bash) taking place right now in the Australian desert -

Then this morning I get up and see this news story about a man being in a critical condition after drinking some home brew at the 'Big Red Bash' festival -
Home brew leaves Queensland man fighting for life
Looks like pills aren't the only problems surrounding these festivals.
And while I haven't been to either of these two festivals, I am a big festival goer and I think it really is up to the festival goer to take responsibility for the stuff they take when going to these festivals, not the festival organizers.
Life is full of risks and taking any drug (legal or otherwise) is full of risks, too.
Such is life.

Idol years
I saw Osher do a live show in Brisbane earlier this year and that is where I photographed one of the double rainbows which I wrote about in this post from yesterday -
Cities as Habitats, Structured and Unstructured Creation, and the Role of Visual Presentation?
Life can be one weird and sometimes dark trip ... and that is without taking any drugs.
