Armistice: The Good Friends
Today in Australia (yesterday by the time this post goes up) is Remembrance Day where we remember the fallen from senseless wars, who didn't get a good run through life like the lovers in the above Sheppard song.

Fire emergency leaves Brisbane's
air quality worse than
Beijing
It was an eerie day today looking into the smoke-filled sky at around 11 am on the outskirts of Brisbane knowing that it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see fire coming through the trees I love looking at so much, and that it is a koala corridor that leads to the forest a couple of kms away.
NSW catastrophic fires loom for Sydney
As far as I can tell, that smoke in the sky above me is blowing from over the N.S.W border and is a fair way from my place, but even so, the power behind these fires is frightening and all of a sudden those nice-looking trees outside start looking like fuel for potential future nightmares.
I wrote a recent post about Sheppard and sirens because of
Chris Knowles' synchromystic obsession with sirens at his
'The Secret Sun' blog and today I read that one of the three deceased victims from the fires in NSW had the surname of Knowles.
Sirens and Sheppards?
Also in the news on November 11th was the bizarre story of a Russian history professor pulled from the St. Petersberg river and found to be carrying two arms of a murdered woman.
And with some countries of the world celebrating Armistice Day on November 11th I couldn't help but think of Jake Kotze's sync film 'ARMED With a DREAM' when I saw the story of that little Russian weirdo being pulled from the water.
