Looking Back at Los Angeles and Pop Culture From the Perspective of Living in 2019?

I had not even heard of Kate Braverman until I stumbled across her obituary at the 'Log 24' blog this month -
On writer Kate Braverman, who reportedly died on Sunday, October 13
I notice that Kate passed away on 'The X-Files' writer/producer's birthday of 10/13, just to make her passing a little more out there.
Kate Braverman, whose poetry and prose captured a dark Los Angeles, dies in Santa Fe, N.M.
I haven't read any of Kate's work, but looking at some on-line reviews of some of her books I couldn't help thinking how her work seems to be the Yin to QT's Yang when it comes to looking back at LA in a year where 'Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood' hit a nostalgic nerve with most of the world wide audience, who like me grew up swimming in the 60's pop cultural influence.
And it was only from a link in the post about Kate that I found out about the passing of Karen Pendelton of The Mickey Mouse Club.
"To hear a story, or to read it straight through from start to finish, is to travel along a one-dimensional line.
A well-structured story has, however, more than one dimension."
